Living most of the first nineteen years of life with my sweet and endearing Grandma Lela was probably the most spiritual, educating and enriching years of my existence. She faithfully took me to church as a small child and at the tender age of five years I was led to the eminent portal of sinners. I was led to the Savior of man, of the entire universe, and now my heart; Jesus Christ. She and my grandfather brought me to many inspirational and profound places of learning and the cultivating of a relationship with God Himself. Because of that inspiration and cultivation, my walk with my Lord and Savior over the last fifty-eight years has become a relationship like no other. Probably the most important lesson that I could have learned and cultivated was the fact that God's words and the inspiration of His Holy Spirit must and does take precedence over any other precept in a relationship with the living God. I learned at a very young age that His Words contain the Power of Life and Death. It is God breathed, alive, and should be allowed to be powerfully applied by the Holy Spirit to every situation in our lives. I was taught it must be an on going application moment by moment in our lives each day, if we desire to be a person after God's own heart.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:12-13
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2Timothy 3:16
So, throughout most of my writings within my blog you will find that I will continue to put the greatest emphasis possible on the Word of God and the authority of how His words and the Bible does and will take precedence over any thing that man or beast can produce or devise. It is when we cleanse our hearts and minds, by applying His words to our lives daily, and then setting our minds on those words so that we become one with Him and continue walking in His power and might that brings true meaning and life.
Set your mind on things above, not things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
The reason God wants us absorbed in His Words and to set our MINDS ON THINGS ABOVE, is because where we set our minds, our hearts will follow! He wants our minds set on Him and moved by the power of His Holy Spirit!~Read His WORDS. Set your MIND on His might and power today and your HEART will follow! With our identity being in Christ, God tells us that because we are one day going to be with Him in glory in heavenly places … start NOW putting to death strongholds of sin in our life so we won’t have to be judged with the rest of the world once God starts pouring out His wrath, because it’s coming folks.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. - Romans 8:6-8
That should be our goal as Christians, to find our purpose in Him once we have accepted Him as Savior. Then we need to nurture that purpose and relationship with daily, hour by hour, minute by minute reading and applying His words to our lives. Balancing between His Justice and Mercy, living a life guided by the Spirit. Taking those words, absorbing them into our hearts, setting our minds on them and putting them to practice, yes, that is the true Power of Life.

Yup! That's probably the most important thing my sweet Grandma Lela taught me...but oh, there are so, so many more. So, I decided to start sharing some of those wise words she spent on me. I sure can't wait until I get the chance to see her again and let her know how her walk with the Lord Jesus and His wonderful words of wisdom she past effected me. Hopefully then I will be able to pass on to my sweet grandkids as well! Yes....As one of her favorite songs says....I can't wait....When the Roll is Called Up Yonder I'll Be There!
